Afon Dwyfach
We have substantial stretches of fishing on this delightful river. Sadly so few fish this as it's banks tend to be overgrown. There are some nice pools and a couple are certainly worth fishing at night. Every year good fish are caught by those who worm or spin on a flood. A 14 lbs. sea trout was caught on a spinner and those that do go and know the best spots reckon they can always catch a sea trout or two on a flood. The river is unspoilt and to fish it properly involves a fair bit of walking. It has a thriving population of otters because of it's relative isolation.
The river rises near gravel pits beyond Pant Glas. Before Brynkir there is a tributary after which the river is a good size and does not gain any significant inflow all the way down to it's confluence with the Dwyfor.
If you want to go after some good quality trout averaging ¾ lbs and up to the occasional 2 lbs, this little river is the place to go.
